Six Legislation Faculties Are Working On Digital Dialogue Boards To Interact Potential College students – Enterprise Wire
LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE) – The deans at six law schools across the country have formed a unique partnership to launch an innovative digital discussion series that uses a virtual platform to engage prospective students and encourage solid conversation about legal education.
The six-seat project, Open Access: Insider Legal Education with Law School Deans, begins in August and includes up to 75-minute informative panels from deans and admissions directors from the USC Gould School of Law at Albany Law School at Columbia Law School, the university's law school of Colorado, University of Georgia Law School and University of Oregon Law School.
The panels cover a wide range of topics, from navigating the application process to diversity in the legal profession. Amid the temporary suspension of law school trade shows due to the ongoing global pandemic, these interactive virtual events are designed to enable potential students to answer their questions, make key contacts, and better understand the intricacies of law school and the benefits of a law education.
“Studying law is extremely important in our world, perhaps more than ever. We train students not only to be lawyers, but also to be leaders – leaders who can analyze problems critically and develop solutions fairly and responsibly, ”said Andrew T. Guzman, Dean of USC Gould School of Law. “It is an honor to be part of this collaboration and to represent schools of law from coast to coast. Digital tools and technologies give us a special opportunity to reach a wide audience, engage in robust dialogue, and share insightful information. "
The concept behind these information boards arose from discussions between Dean Guzman and the respective deans, who had longstanding professional relationships.
The first panel is planned for August 27th, the following panels are planned every month through January 2021. All panels are carried out and archived via zoom.
Panels, topics and dates include:
